Inspired by Guess pieces worn by famous Guess girls over the past three decades, the 15-piece collection features - amongst other pieces - wide-neck T-shirts bearing images of Line Gost and Anna Nicole Smith; jeans with a cut-off waistband originally modelled by Adriana Lima; and a sleeveless monochrome gingham top worn by Eva Herzigova.

Frustenbabies

Customers on Oxford Street waited in an orderly manner to be allowed access at 8.30am - most on route to work and without children to slow their shopping progress. A few, we suspect, may not even havechildren - as the bigger sizes of shoes and dresses, priced from just £20, seemed to be selling particularly well.

Dorino remembered

Picture
DORINO DELLA VALLE - Tod's founder and father of current CEO and chairman Diego Della Valle and his brother, vice-chairman Andrea - has died at the age of 87. He passed away at Casette d'Ete, the small Italian town where the luxury label is based.
"He was a lovely man, very reserved and of few words, but you could see in his eyes how proud he was of his work and of his sons' endeavours," Armando Branchini, deputy chairman of Milan consultancy InterCorporate, told WWD "He didn't consider himself an entrepreneur, but a shoemaker."
Della Valle lent his name to the label he established in the Forties, which he and his sons later renamed Tod's. Private services will be held to remember Della Valle on Thursday.
